It was 1979 when we first walked trough the door of this room upstairs of the restaurant. At least that's what it felt like. Unfortunately it was 2019 already. Oooops... time for a big make over! When you first see the facade of Du Progres - a place known by almost every self respecting Ghent inhabitant - you see grandeur and architectural finesse. The restaurant downstairs follows that style, but what we found upstairs was a bit of a bummer. Only the wood paneling was a keeper, all the rest was ready for renovation.
Instead of removing the paneling and mouldings, CREMEFRESH decided to throw in a lot more, but with a modern twist and contemporary colors like emerald Green and touches of gold. 2 big antique mirrors, extra windows with reflecting gold foils and a light oak floor were added to make the room feel twice the size.
